Goechala Trek is one of the most notorious and stirring journeys in Sikkim going to an elevation of 4570 m. It offers a huge panoramic view of colourful majestic summits which includes the world’s third loftiest peak – Kanchenjunga. That’s why it’s also known as Kanchenjunga View Trek. The journey passes through beautiful and serene geographies, meadows, rhododendron perm and witnessing unique foliage & fauna of Himalayas. After spending a good rest day at Darjeeling and nearby places, the coming day will be a beautiful drive through colourful tea auditoriums which will lead to our trailhead, Yuksom in Sikkim. After reaching them and check- in a guest house, the journey leader will brief about the journey and schedule. Many effects are surely going to be new and instigative for you on this journey like yaks will be carrying your luggage. So, after getting everyone’s trekking permit at Kanchenjunga National Park Check Post and passing beautiful thick timber along with some water sluice you’ll reach Bakim.
Kanchenjunga Journey for Life-Experience
The coming two days journey will surely going to be your favourite bone as the trail will pass through the graphic Rhododendron timber. There will be a little steep but well pronounced path which will also have numerous other blowing Himalayan fauna. But this journey should surely be avoided in thunderstorm as the slush and water makes it delicate to walk. In this season the journey will be covering Phedang first and also Dzongri.
Morning at Dzongri should be planned beforehand as the Dzongri Pass (4050 m) has the stylish view of the entire journey where you can see many notorious peaks of the region from Mt Kanchenjunga. Pandim, Mt Kabru, Mt Rathong etc. After this horrible sight, the trail will now go plumb descent till Thansing.

And that’s a reason that after Lamuney there’s no camping allowed on any point. Though the distance to Goechala is almost 4 to 5 hours from Lamuney, So, there is no demand for boarding.

Now while enacting back to Yuksom, we’ll be boarding at new places this time like after crossing Thansing there’s a place in Kokchurang where we’ll have canopies by the seaside for the late stay. Also, the next day while passing the same Rhododendron timber there will be a late stay at vill Tsoka. While reaching them in autumn you can relax at canopies set by Happy Travel Tips platoon or can explore this small village of Tibetan families. Also on the coming day, the final descent journey to Yuksom will be one further night stay in the hostel and coming morning a long drive to Bagdogra Airport for the final departure.
