Deoriatal

A pretty lake at a height of 2,387metres and only 3 kms from Sari Village. The touring route is heavily wooded with lush green trees like Rhododendron bearing fully red coloured flowers like demitasse rose during May- June. It’s believed that it was the place where potent Pandavas were asked queries by the Yaksha. There’s a walking route around the lake paved with many stones to make it comfortable for those who want to take parikrama (round walk) of the lake.

Chopta

It is a 12 kms journey from Deoria Tal leads to Chopta (Uttarakhand), 2900 metres. We can reach Chopta by road. It is 34 km away from Ukhimath and 36 kms away from Gopeshwar, 254 kms away from Rishikesh and 450 kms away from Delhi. Chopta is usually a base for pedestrians who wanna journey to Tungnath and Chandrashila Summit. It’s a small agreement and inception point to 3rd of Panch Kedar Tungnath and offers amazing view of Himalayan Range including Trishul, Nanda Devi (the most sacred mountain) and Chaukhamba. Chopta is rich in varied foliage and fauna and is positioned amidst thick timber pine deodar and rhododendron. Some conditioning in Chopta that can be accepted are Camping and Trekking, Yoga, Survival exertion – Snow Trekking, Snow Skiing – Rock Craft, Rock climbing, Rappelling – Outdoor Games-Cricket, volleyball, Badminton, football etc.

Tungnath

The loftiest Shiva tabernacle in the world and is one of the five and the loftiest Panch Kedar tabernacles located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag quarter. Tungnath temple is built by Pandvas. Tungnath height is 3,680m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila, Tungnath tabernacle is believed to be 1000 times old and is the alternate in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, icons of the Mahabharata Epic.

Tungnath weather in Summer (April – June)

From April to August, the rainfall stays affable, with no rain or snowfall. The Tungnath tabernacle opens during summers, and it’s the perfect time for pilgrims. Temperature stays around 16 °C, and the climate is moderate.

Chandrashila

Chandrashila is 2 kms afore and the peak of the Tungnath. It literally means “Moon Rock”. Chandrashila height is about 4,000 metres (13,000ft) above ocean position. Chandrashila peak gives a great view of Himalayas, mainly Trishul, Nandadevi, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba Massif peaks. There are colourful legends associated with this place. 

Best Time to Visit Chopta Chandrashila Trek

The best time to visit Chopta Chandrashila Trek is during Summer from March to May. Chopta Chandrashila temperature in March is approx. 20°/ 6° and in May is approx. 29°/ 14°.
